Youtha… what? In Provo and Orem?

The Youthalon Is Here! Every Thursday Night At 6:30pm, Starting January 28,2010.
The Youtha… what?
The Youthalon is a series of competitions eg. volleyball, basketball, football, push-ups, sit-ups, DDR, Bible Knowledge, Scripture Quoting and much more. It will take 2-3 months to complete.
At the end of our Youthalon event, we will crown a king and a queen for the year in front of the church congregation. The boy with the highest overall score will be our king and the girl with the highest score will be our queen.
We will celebrate at a buffet and the king and queen will get to eat for free. So start saving now (around $13) because you don’t know if you’ll be our 2010 king/queen. And you don’t want to miss that day of fun.
The king and queen will not only get to eat for free, but will get to command all their servants (everyone else) for the rest of the day. Example, they can order the servants to get food for them or tie their shoes for them, etc.
There are two reasons why we’re doing it this way. One, the king and queen have labored long and hard by being there for all the events and worked hard for God’s glory (remember our motto “In Christ We Have Fun”). So it’s time for their reward. Matt. 16:27 25:21
Two, the servants get the pleasure of serving as Jesus served when He was on earth. Matt. 20:26-28
There are no losers in the Youthalon. You’re all winners already because In Christ We Have Fun!
Now that you know what the Youthalon is; are you up to the challenge?
Come join us every Thursday night at 6:30pm at First Baptist Church of Provo Starting January 28th 2010. Every Thursday night we will kick off with one to two competitions followed by a bible study. Join us if you can handle it.
Recommended ages to participate are 12-19yrs old.
Anyone that drives: If you would like to volunteer to help with the pick up and drop off of those that need a ride; please contact tino@provobaptist.com.
FBC of Provo Youth’s Car-Wash In Orem

Our First Car Wash together in Orem. It was totally a learning experience for all of us. We started the day setting up at 10:30am and didn’t finish until way passed 11:00am, which was supposed to be the time of our actual car wash. Steve and his family were our first customers, showing up right after 11am. And we were not ready!
Good thing, they were patient and waited.
So finally we kicked-off with a prayer and started with Steve’s car. Then, it was amazing! God continued bringing our way car after car after car. We worked almost nonstop. There were times when we had a line of cars waiting. And some even left because they couldn’t wait any longer.
THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO CAME TO OUR CAR WASH. GOD BLESS YOU!
And a special thank you to China Bowl for feeding us lunch, the food was great!! – and allowing us to use their water, equipment, and parking lot. China Bowl’s customers came out of the restaurant, had a car wash, and would comment that they really liked the food. And we agreed that it’s great food!

At the end of the day, we counted our earnings for the day and praised God for the blessing. We decided to tithe 10% of our earnings. Glory be to Him; our Lord Jesus Christ!
The Great Fall In Orem

Orem is the place. Fun is the name of the game! Classic Skating was game. But we couldn’t avoid “The Great Fall” since the beginning with Adam and Eve in Genesis.
And now… another “Great Fall” happened in Orem Classic Skating.
Yes, the falls can’t be avoided and so is the fun and laughter of the evening. We had a blast! Two and a half hours of it. The true is we didn’t want to leave. But when we did leave at 8pm the fun and fellowship had just begun.
Next Stop, China Bowl!
We headed straight to China Bowl right away for some good eating. Hey it’s a lot of hard works having fun. So we much eat well. Well what’s important is that God gave us all these abilities. And we do it all in His name. “In Christ We Have Fun.”
