operation christmas child:

A love offering to children all over world. Donated toys and needed  essentials fill a shoe box and a message of Jesus and His Love(in their language) inside are sent to change the lives of recipient and others. May the Lord Bless all who help further His name in this beautiful way.

Our congregation as a whole was able to fill and send off 29 boxes for 2009!!! ALLELUJA.I know in my heart it has made a difference for at least one child and their family-many others-and ourselves.thanks everyone

Youtha… what? In Provo and Orem?

The Youthalon Is Here! Every Thursday Night At 6:30pm, Starting January 28,2010.

The Youtha… what?

The Youthalon is a series of competitions eg. volleyball, basketball, football, push-ups, sit-ups, DDR, Bible Knowledge, Scripture Quoting and much more. It will take 2-3 months to complete.

At the end of our Youthalon event, we will crown a king and a queen for the year in front of the church congregation. The boy with the highest overall score will be our king and the girl with the highest score will be our queen.

We will celebrate at a buffet and the king and queen will get to eat for free. So start saving now (around $13) because you don’t know if you’ll be our 2010 king/queen. And you don’t want to miss that day of fun.

The king and queen will not only get to eat for free, but will get to command all their servants (everyone else) for the rest of the day. Example, they can order the servants to get food for them or tie their shoes for them, etc.

There are two reasons why we’re doing it this way. One, the king and queen have labored long and hard by being there for all the events and worked hard for God’s glory (remember our motto “In Christ We Have Fun”). So it’s time for their reward. Matt. 16:27 25:21

Two, the servants get the pleasure of serving as Jesus served when He was on earth. Matt. 20:26-28

There are no losers in the Youthalon. You’re all winners already because In Christ We Have Fun!

Now that you know what the Youthalon is; are you up to the challenge?

Come join us every Thursday night at 6:30pm at First Baptist Church of Provo Starting January 28th 2010. Every Thursday night we will kick off with one to two competitions followed by a bible study. Join us if you can handle it.

Recommended ages to participate are 12-19yrs old.

Anyone that drives: If you would like to volunteer to help with the pick up and drop off of those that need a ride; please contact tino@provobaptist.com.
