“Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel, meaning God with us.” (Isaiah 7:14)
This Christmas season as we celebrate the greatest gift ever given we also celebrate the thousands of Southern Baptist Disaster Relief volunteers who gave their time, energy and talents to hundreds of thousands of people who suffered the devastating effects of fire, ice, wind and rain this year. For many caught up in the grief of their losses our Disaster Relied volunteers were a visible reminder that God is “with us” in times of trial.
As this year draws to a close winter storms are pummeling many parts of the country and in New England thousands are still without power. Recovery units have responded in several areas to local needs and our state directors continue to monitor situations as they unfold. At this time there are no multi-state responses underway.

Operation Christmas Box was accomplished with 25 boxes. Thank you Katie for a job well done.
The Samaritan’s Purse has a program called Operation Christmas Box. Sending gifts (in a shoe box with Christian message) to children all over the world.
And our church’s members decided to be involved. We collected shoe boex and filled them with items such as: toys, balls, dolls, toothbrush’s and paste, paper, pencils, color books and crayons etc. Then add $7 for shipping.
Samaritan’s Purse takes over from here.
Their volunteers insert literature about our Savior Jesus Christ, in different languages. Many children have saved of this worthy program!
God have bless us with a total of 25 boxes this Christmas. May God continue to work in and use First Baptist Church of Provo to glorify Him!

November 30, 2008 1:50pm, right before the bowling alley opened. Guess who was waiting outside their double doors? Yep. The Youth of Provo Baptist Church. We all played a total of 4 games. But these boys decided to play an extra game, because they were having too much fun.
The losing team has to do push ups, which by the way, the debt has not been paid in full (yes, I’m talking about you- you know who you are!)

Check out the action!
